  • Food Waste: The Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012 were approved by the Scottish Parliament and came into force on May 17, 2012. This signifies a landmark step-change in the way individuals and businesses in Scotland manage their waste.

    The new regulations are designed to make the most of the fact that waste, when treated appropriately, is a valuable resource which holds the potential to significantly boost Scotland’s economy and create Green jobs. The Regulations will help deliver the Government’s Zero Waste agenda and recycling targets.

    Keys provisions of the Regulations regarding food state that businesses involved in food manufacture, preparation or retail will be required to separate food waste for recycling from 2014 onwards.

    It’s the law in Scotland if you are a food producing business with more than 5kg of food waste produced per week. Seperating your food waste ensures compliance with Scottish Law and avoids potential fines (up to £10,000).

    Having your food waste as a separate waste stream will also prevent contamination of other waste helping with the recycling of all your other materials

  • We offer a broad range of waste and resource recovery services including dry mixed recycling, green waste, food/organic waste, wood, metals, and more. If you have a specialised waste type (e.g. hazardous, plastics, etc.), we can discuss customised solutions.

  • Collection frequency is flexible. We offer regular scheduled collections (daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly), as well as on-demand / ad-hoc pickups, depending on your needs, volume, and location.

  • We hold all required licences and certifications, and comply with UK/Scottish waste regulations. We also use Waste Transfer Notes / Duty of Care documentation, audit trails, and transparent reporting so you can see how your waste is being handled and recycled responsibly.

  • Yes. We provide detailed reports showing the amount of waste collected, how much is recycled or recovered, and associated metrics (for example carbon savings or diverted from landfill). These can be useful for your sustainability / ESG reporting. This data can all be accessed by you through out client portal.

  • Pricing depends on factors such as the type and volume of waste, collection frequency, distance, and whether special treatment is required. We’ll provide a tailored quote based on your business’s specific needs. We also work to help optimise cost through better waste segregation and infrastructure.

  • You can request a quote via our website or contact our commercial team. We’ll usually arrange an initial site visit or conversation to understand your waste types, volumes, site layout etc. From there we propose a plan and service schedule.

  • Yes, we provide bins, skips, containers (various sizes), and can help select the right type based on your waste stream and available space. We also handle delivery and placement of containers as part of the setup.

  • After collection, your waste is taken to our facility where it is sorted, processed, recycled or recovered as appropriate. Organic waste may go through composting or anaerobic digestion; recyclable materials are cleaned and processed; residuals are treated to minimise environmental impact.

  • We can work with you on waste audits to see where waste is coming from and suggest improvements. We offer advice on segregation, reuse, circular design, and customised recycling solutions. We also aim to partner with customers on longer term sustainability goals.

  • For larger scale or multi-site customers, we offer account management, flexible service plans, volume-based pricing, and bespoke arrangements. We are experienced in handling large contracts and can scale services accordingly, including project management, logistics, and reporting.
