To verify the identity (ID) of the seller, Binn Group (‘the dealer’) must request either valid photographic ID, which also sets out the seller’s full name and residential address, or a formal document such as a utility bill, that bears the person’s full name and residential address and valid photographic ID that includes the seller’s date of birth as well as their full residential address.

Acceptable Photographic ID and Formal Documents

Acceptable photographic ID:

  • UK passports
  • Passports issued by a European Economic Area (EEA) state
  • Photocard driving licences (Great Britain or Northern Ireland)
  • Biometric immigration documents

 Acceptable formal documents:

  • Credit or debit card statements
  • Council tax bills/statements (linked to an address in England, Wales or Scotland) or rates bills/statements (linked to an address in Northern Ireland)

All documentation presented must have been issued within three months of the date the metal is acquired by the dealer or no more than three months before the date the metal is disposed of by sale or exchange by the dealer.
