A letter from America

Author: Binn Group/19 January 2012/Categories: Recycling

We received this very interesting letter from Sarah recently and we are delighted to help her and her students by publishing their link on our website as requested. We would like to thank the students for bringing this excellent resource to our attention and feel positive that it will benefit all who are constantly working towards zero waste by recycling and a cleaner, healthier environment for future generations. Thank you and keep up the great work!

My name is Sarah and I am a High School English teacher. Currently, my students are writing research papers on various environmental topics. They have been researching to find quality resources in order to write about the specific topics of their choice. In their research, they came across your page (http://www.binnwaste.com/en/useful-links.html) and found it to be very helpful. Thank you for maintaining a great resource!

A group of my students have chosen to focus their research on recycling, and they found  this very informative article about it (on a site maintained by the African American Environmentalist Association) (http://www.aaenvironment.com/environmental-concerns-recycling.htm). They would like to suggest the article to you to add to your page as an additional resource because they think it would be helpful and of interest to the visitors of your site. Also, if you do find it to be useful and decide to add it as a resource, my students will be awarded extra credit (a little extra credit opportunity I give them).

It would be very encouraging for my students to see their suggestion being used on your page; they have been putting a lot of effort into their research for this project so far. Please get back to me as soon as you can about this so that I can give them a verdict : )

Thank you so much for your time and consideration!

Kindest Regards,

Sarah Anderson

The African American Environmentalist Association (AAEA), founded in 1985, is a national, nonprofit environmental organisation dedicated to protecting the environment, enhancing human, animal and plant ecologies, promoting the efficient use of natural resources and increasing African American participation in the environmental movement.

AAEA's main goals are to deliver environmental information and services directly into communities. We work to clean up neighbourhoods by implementing toxics education, energy, water and clean air programs. AAEA includes an African American point of view in environmental policy decision-making and resolves environmental racism and injustice issues through the application of practical environmental solutions. We are the nation's oldest African American-led environmental organisations and we welcome all races interested in working for improvements in the African American community.

The African American community is as American as apple pie.
